Let's celebrate, new and upgraded computers in the Preston library, a quiet study room at the Epping library and

extended opening hours across the library network. These are some of our responses to the frustrations you shared in the Customer Service Survey (Insync report) last year.

The Preston library computers are now significantly faster, they have 16GB RAM with 250GB or a higher hard drive, all three rooms have been upgraded.

At Epping and looking for a quiet place for deep study? Room EM206 is now available, (bring your laptop)

Opening hours continue to change in response to classes and demand, Collingwood and Fairfield have recently extended their hours to address client needs. Library hours

PlantFile’s Peter Kirkland presents database features to Melbourne Polytechnic horticulture students

Peter Kirkland addressing Horticulture student at Fairfield

Horticulturist Peter Kirkland recently visited Melbourne Polytechnic to demonstrate features of his database PlantFile, which now covers over 3700 plant species.

Peter reviewed basic and advanced searching of the database, the generation of plant profile PDF reports, and useful tools such as a glossary and a list of pests and diseases.
